The Illinois DOT is seeking feedback on its rest areas to develop a plan for their best use.The Illinois Department of Transportation is asking drivers for their input on the state’s rest areas to help the state develop a plan for the best use of its rest areas.
A 20-question survey is available online here through Sunday, Oct. 29. Paper copies of the survey are available at certain rest areas in the state.
The survey asks drivers how and why they currently use the rest areas, their level of satisfaction with the rest areas, how important certain features are and more. The state operates 30 rest areas and 11 welcome centers throughout the state.
“Many of our rest areas have reached a point where it’s time to evaluate their future,” said Illinois Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn. “The feedback this survey provides us will be incredibly valuable. We hope as many people as possible participate so our rest areas can better reflect the changing needs of today’s travelers.”
