Tired of swilling coffee to get a pick-me-up fix? Consider a new product, Jolt Caffeine-Energy Gum. It offers a single coffee’s worth of stimulant in two pieces of chewing gum.

“Jolt Gum is the direct descendant of the revolutionary Jolt Cola,” the caffeine-filled soft drink that became a “badge of honor for sleep-deprived college students, truckers and business people,” says its producer, GumRunners.

Kelly Reno’s job – hauling building materials around Colorado – isn’t quite as exciting as some earlier work. When he was 11, he played the role of Alec in the 1980 film The Black Stallion, about the bond between a boy and his horse. He mingled with Hollywood’s biggest directors and stars, including Mickey Rooney and Teri Garr, who were in the movie.

Reno, 37, appeared in other films, but a terrible accident put him in a wheelchair for eight months and contributed to the end of his movie career, reports the Rocky Mountain News. Now he rarely rides horses, though he still lives on the ranch where he grew up near Pueblo, Colo.
