International introduces new line of vocational trucks

Hero_HX520_HeavyHaulInternational Truck on Monday unveiled its first all-new vehicle since 2010 as the company sets its sights on winning back work truck marketshare.

Each of the HX Series’ four models are available in either set-forward or set-back front axle models and in short or long hood configurations:

  • The HX515, powered by Navistar’s N13 engine, is a 115 inch BBC set-forward axle straight truck aimed at concrete mixer, construction dump, refuse/roll-off and crane vocations.
  • The HX615, which also gets the N13 engine, is a 115 inch BBC set-back axle truck or tractor aimed at construction dump, concrete mixer, platform stake/crane and refuse/roll-off applications.
  • The HX620, powered by a Cummins ISX15 engine, is a 120 inch BBC set-back axle truck or tractor targeting heavy haul tractor, construction dump and platform stake/crane users.
  • The HX520, which also uses the Cummins ISX15 engine, is a 120 inch BBC set-forward axle truck or tractor catering to heavy haul tractor, construction dump and platform stake/crane segments.

Hoods and grilles across the entire lineup get a refreshed look and customers will have options for bright finishes.

Navistar says the interior was ergonomically designed to offer more room for the driver. Contoured door handles added hip room and storage space, and a central console is angled for an easy reach to controls.

The trucks are currently available for order with deliveries expected to begin this spring.
