Iowa 80 Truckstop’s 36th annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree will kick off next week on July 9 for three full days of everything trucking.

The event will feature nearly 175 exhibits including a super truck beauty contest, an antique truck display, an Iowa pork chop cookout, Trucker Olympics, carnival games and several free concerts.

Natalie Stovall & The Drive will perform July 9 courtesy of CAT Scale, and Lindsay Lawler and the Josh Abbott Band will perform July 10, presented by Mobil Delvac. Local bands North of 40 and Dani Lynn Howe & Band will also perform during the three-day event.

“We are celebrating America’s truckers and the hard work they do to keep this country moving,” said Iowa 80 Truckstop owner Delia Moon Meier. “We are proud and honored to have been serving professional drivers for over 51 years. It’s really neat to see third and even fourth generation drivers who stop at Iowa 80.”

The first Walcott Truckers Jamboree only attracted a few hundred people in 1979 and featured a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. Last year’s event attracted over 44,000 attendees.

Admission and parking are free for the Jamboree, and shuttles will be provided from the parking area to the event grounds.
