The Great American Trucking Show will move from a Thursday-to-Saturday show to a Friday-to-Sunday schedule, Sept. 7-9, in Dallas. The Friday and Saturday hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.



Dave Carr, an owner-operator from North Bay, Ontario, won the first Peterbilt Model 387 Premier Edition truck to be produced, Peterbilt Motors Co. announced during the Mid-America Trucking Show. Carr owns D&J Transport, a tanker operation leased to Harmac Transportation.



The Texas Department of Transportation is planning a $9.2 million rest stop project. Nearly 70 rest stops will be created or renovated over five years.



Mack Trucks will cut its work force by 12 percent due to declining sales. Mack will cut approximately 700 positions by July and plans to reduce approximately 130 non-manufacturing jobs.



Pilot opened a Travel Center in Lost Hills, Calif., its ninth in the state. The facility features seven diesel islands, seven showers, a Wendy’s restaurant and 100 parking spaces.
