Love’s Travel Stops is adding oil change services to many of its Love’s Truck Tire Care facilities, as well as expanding training for its diesel mechanics.Love’s Travel Stops is continuing to add services at its locations for truck drivers, most recently expanding services offered at the company’s Truck Tire Care locations into a more full-service operation.
The company now offers diesel oil changes at more than 130 of its 270-plus Love’s Truck Tire Care locations and is continuing to add the service to other locations. Love’s says the majority of its Truck Tire Care centers will be oil change ready by the beginning of 2018.
Last year, Love’s started performing light mechanical work, such as wheel-end repairs, suspension repairs, air conditioning systems, exhaust systems and more. Nearly all Love’s locations with a tire care center now offer light mechanical services.
Additionally, the company is taking a new approach to training its diesel mechanics by outfitting mobile training labs with training modules covering most systems found in diesel engines. The company says the labs are taken to different Love’s locations across the country, teaching employees the best techniques in various systems. Love’s mechanics must pass written and practical skills tests before becoming certified.
