Mack Trucks, Inc., donated a new Mack Pinnacle axle-back tractor to safety outreach program Share the Road.
The SmartWay-certified tractor is equipped with a Mac mDrive automated manual transmission and a 13-liter 505-hp Mack MP8 engine featuring the truck maker’s ClearTech selected catalytic reduction technology and 1760 lb. ft. torque. It also has the Mack Road Stability Advantage by Bendix with adaptive cruise control.
The campaign, run by the American Trucking Associations, uses commercial drivers with good safety records to illustrate cases about potential blind spots, safe following distances, truck stopping distances and other topics. This is the third truck Mack has donated since it became a sponsor in 2001.
