KEEPING HIS COOL

Mike Boulia of Newport, N.C., affectionately calls his ride Cool 359, but his trucks have not always been so pleasant. Boulia’s first rig had no air conditioning, earning him his handle, Shake and Bake. Boulia now drives this 1986 Peterbilt 359 with a 475 Cummins and “air conditioning that will freeze your toes off.”

FAMILY TRADITION

Heath Marsh, who hauls rock and sand in his 1988 Freightliner FLC 120, is a second-generation truck driver, but his dream is to open a chrome shop and customize show trucks. Until then, Marsh says he will stay on the road with his own customized rig. It has a Cummins Big Cam 4 engine, drop sun visor, 11 feet of polished deck plate in front and behind the fifth wheel, aluminum Alcoa wheels and 60 chicken lights.
