DRIVER OF THE YEAR

National Carriers named Willie Clark of Martinez, Ga., as its Driver of the Year. The 52-year-old owner-operator has driven 13 years of his 32-year career with National Carriers. He has logged more than 2 million miles of safe driving with no accidents or tickets with the company.

Gary Denning, President of National Carriers, presented Clark with a $5,000 check and a crystal mantel clock at a ceremony recognizing his achievement.


NEW CON-WAY CANADA SERVICE CENTERS

Con-Way Canada Express, Mississauga, Ontario, opened new service centers in St. Luc, Quebec, and Windsor, Ontario. The St. Luc facility, which will serve metropolitan Montreal, has 17 doors and 8,700 square feet; the Windsor facility, which replaces an earlier, smaller one, has 24 doors and 10,200 square feet.

  • AAA Cooper Transportation, Dothan, Ala., announced that G. Mack Dove, chairman and chief executive officer, will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame in October.
  • Sitton Motor Lines, Joplin, Mo., announced recent drivers of the month: contractors Larry and Elda Bassham of Joplin, Mo., September; and company driver Clyde Guthrie of Nevada, Mo., October.
  • Yellow Transportation, Overland Park, Kan., announced that its website, myyellow.com, recently received awards from eWeek and B-to-B magazines and from the Web Marketing Association.
