Roanoke-area Shawsville, Va.-based Dave McCormick was just about ready to put this classic 1990 Kenworth W900 back on the road in place of a similar 1996 model he’s been hauling cattle in for years (pictured below) when we caught up with him at the Southern Classic Truck Show in Lincolnton, N.C., last month.

He fell in love with the rig as a teenager, he says, when nearby owner-operator Harold Eanes ordered it new with this classic paint scheme. Come January 2014, McCormick was finally able to purchase the unit himself from Eanes, and since has done all he can to keep it in top shape with most mechanical and surface finishing work, running it at first, then putting it aside for show.
