Mid-America 2002

The Mid-America Trucking Show will welcome truckers and industry leaders March 21-23 at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville.

Mid-America organizers say they are hoping to build upon the record-setting success of last year’s show that saw more than 1,100 exhibitors taking part in the event’s 30th anniversary. With more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space, Mid-America is the largest trucking trade show in the country.

In addition to this year’s exhibits there are several free educational seminars, workshops, giveways and sponsored entertainment events, including concerts and guest appearances. The Midnight Trucking Radio Network will play host to award-winning country singer Mindy McCready at its annual Mid-America Jamboree. McCready, along with Midnight Trucking Radio Network host Eric Harley and Joe Kelley, will sign autographs in the lobby of the Exposition Center from 1-4 p.m. (EST) on the opening day of the show. The trio will also do a live remote from 1-6 a.m. Friday from the Executive Inn West across from the fairgrounds. Attendees can also register for a chance to win $1,000, which will be given away on the last day of the show.

Kenworth will sponsor the country group Alabama for concert Friday night at Freedom Hall. Rocker/rapper Kid Rock will be in concert at Freedom Hall on Saturday.

The Trucking Technology will feature Internet and computer-based companies showcasing the latest in load posting, freight tracking, online recruiting sources and more. The Ol’ Blue United Safety Alliance will offer live a webcam and hourly inspection demonstrations by law enforcement.

Seminars include updates on trucking regulations, background checks, tax laws, roadside inspections and more.
