New free load board on the way

An early version of this story gave the incorrect impression that the new board was live — the story has been updated to reflect that it’s set for launch around the Mid-America Trucking Show in late March 2015.

The Apex Capital factoring and other financial service for owner-operators is branching into ways to tap into brokered freight for clients as well as those who’ve never done business with the company. Its new NextLoad.com load board it pitches as “unlike any other load board currently on the market” with smart search capabilities delivering more relevant results. Perhaps most uniquely, says Apex’s Sarah Schimp, your searches will yield “all the same loads you’ll see with all the big guys” in the load board space, but the board and the vast majority of its search, load-alert, frequent-refresh and filtering capabilities come “at no additional charge” to all users.

When the board goes fully functional in March, users will be able to “create as many custom filters as they want, and unlimited user accounts,” she adds, and it will be “accessible on smartphones with a user-friendly interface.”

Any owner-operators give the new NextLoad.com load board a kick of the tires as yet?

One feature non-Apex clients won’t have access to is an embedded broker-credit-check feature, Schimp says.

NextLoad refreshes every 10 seconds as a default, the company says, and delivers results to any carrier’s active filter fast. Integrated with PostEverywhere, NextLoad will average 50,000 active loads each day.

The company is working on giving brokers the ability to post directly to the board. Find the board’s landing page at NextLoad.com. Schimp reports an operational date for it around the Mid-America Trucking Show in late March.
