New ‘gold trucks’ vid from owner-operator Howard Salmon

| August 09, 2010

Remember that little mention I made a few weeks back about my serendipitous meeting with past Overdrive Trucker of the Month Howard Salmon (pictured), the one where I talked about participating in a bit of a video experiment with him singing at the fuel island (I held the camera, don’t worry; he did all the singing)? Well, you can get a look at the results below, a new vid for the title track on his “These Trucks Are Made of Gold” record with Cashbox. I shot the clips you see of him wearing the red Hawaiian shirt, mostly fueling.

Anyhow, here’s hoping you enjoy.

Dare I influence the process, I will refrain here from mentioning my own top-ten, but let’s say potential contenders could range from classics by Red Sovine to “Eastbound and Down” to the more recent, such as Pure Grain’s “Trucking Song” or many a tune penned by owner-operator-crooners running the highways today.
