VT 800 DAYCAB
The VT 880 tractor now comes in a daycab, the VT 800, Volvo announced at the Great American Trucking Show. The Volvo D16 engine, with as much as 625 hp and 2,250 pounds-feet of torque, is standard. The Cummins ISX engine, up to 565 hp, is optional. Available transmissions are Eaton RTO or RTLO in 10-, 13- or 18-speed or Eaton Autoshift in 10- or 18-speed. Performance is enhanced by a 45-degree wheel cut. Driver visibility is excellent because of the sloping hood, the position of the driver’s seat and a large one-piece windshield. The company also announced Volvo Link Sentry, which uses an Internet-based satellite network to provide remote diagnostics and monitor the truck’s fault codes.

AWD OPTION ON M2
Freightliner Trucks’ Meritor front drive axles, which allow for an all-wheel-drive option, are now available on Business Class M2 106 and 106V models. The front drive axle system can be activated by the operator when AWD is needed. The front drive axles are available in 4×4 or 6×6 configuration on the 106 or 106V models running MBE900 or Caterpillar C7 engines.

MACK EXPANDS RAWHIDE LINE
Mack Trucks has added daycab and 70-inch mid-rise versions of its Rawhide edition, which previously was available only in a 60-inch mid-rise configuration. The Rawhide edition is a premium version that features the new Mack Advantage highway chassis. Nearly every exterior component is chrome or stainless steel.

DROP DECK TRAILER
Reinke Manufacturing increased the performance and improved the strength of its drop deck by redesigning the wheel wells and the side rail drop section. The wheel wells no longer extend into the floor of the drop deck, increasing the strength of the floor and the structural integrity over the wells. The side rail includes a new connection at the drop section. Bolting the lower deck side rail to the drop section adds additional trailer strength and flexibility. The trailers are available in lengths of 45 to 53 feet and 96 to 102 feet.

SUPER 44 LED STROBE
Truck-Lite’s Super 44 LED strobe is available in red and amber and is designed with a durable synthetic rubber housing that resists corrosion. The lamp contains a synchronized alternating feature that allows users to select among dual, quad and alternating dual flash patterns. The internal strobe circuit requires only a 12-volt input.

The tridem axle line includes the T69-170HP series, which is rated up to 200,000 pounds GCWR, the T78-190P series, which is rated up to 240,000 pounds GCWR, and the T78-590P series, which is rated up to 240,000 pounds GCWR.
