The 2004 Mercedes-Benz MBE926 7.2-liter engine is now available for Freightliner’s medium-duty Business Class M2 line. The engine delivers high torque at a low RPM, increasing performance with smoother shifts, better drivability and increased capacity for climbing hills and negotiating stop-and-go traffic, the company says. The 6-cylinder MBE926 offers horsepower ratings from 250 to 330 and torque range from 800 to 1,000 pounds-feet.

MULTI-FUNCTION LED LIGHT
Peterson’s new LED multi-function light provides both strobe and rear turn functions. Comprised of 39 light-emitting diodes, the light meets SAE J318 strobing functions as well as DOT rear turn specifications. The turn function can override the strobe functions when the turn indicator is engaged. It also features a triple-flash, alternating strobe pattern, low amp draw, hard-wired terminals and a 100,000-hour life.

DIESEL FUEL PURIFICATION SYSTEM
Dieselcraft Fluid Engineering’s has developed a new Two Stage Diesel Fuel Purification System. Stage one is a high-speed centrifuge separator that removes 99.9 percent of the water and 95 percent of the solid contaminants in diesel fuel. It has no filters to change and requires no maintenance. Stage two will address degradation, oxidation and repolymerization in fuel. COUPLING COUNTERS ACCIDENTAL SPILLAGE
Dixon’s new dry disconnect couplings, available in stainless steel from 11/2 inches to 4 inches, are designed for easier connection and disconnection of chemical or fuel hoses and pipelines while eliminating accidental spillage and product loss. Truck Trailer Solutions CleanBoost fuel additive has been tested by Southwest Research Institute and was found to have an average improvement in fuel economy of 3 percent for No. 2 diesel fuel.
