Tire traction system

Auxiliary power unit

The Tridako HC5128 and a smaller prototype are made for truckers with limited frame rail space. The larger unit is 28 inches wide and offers 24,000 BTU of air-conditioning capacity, 30,000 BTU of cab heat, 6,000 watts of 120-volt, 60-Hertz AC power and 60 amps of 12-volt DC power. The smaller 24-in. design removes the AC generator and includes a 150-amp DC alternator that can provide hotel loads with a power converter. Both units employ an 11.8-hp Caterpillar two-cylinder diesel that runs at 2,800 rpm.

Flex head ratchet

Snap-on’s 3/8-in. flex head ratchet can handle up to 300 lb.-ft. of torque and has seven teeth in contact with the gear to offer more strength, the company says. It has a low ratcheting torque and sealed head to keep the mechanism dirt free. The ratchet requires 4.5 degrees of swing arc to engage the next gear tooth.
