Independent singer-songwriter Erich McMann, based near Chicago, announced the release to radio the “Guilty as Pleaded” track, the second single from his “Trucker Country” record. The album debuted earlier this year with the “Keep on Truckin'” single.

The new single, about a little trouble for a driver at a roadside Honky Tonk, McMann describes as traditional Western swing-style country with a shuffle beat and highway themes. Hear it at this link or via Overdrive‘s “Music to truck by” playlist below.

McMann’s “Trucker Country” is the artist’s second solo album following his 2013 debut, “The Last American Songbook.” As discussed in this post to the Channel 19 blog earlier in the year, McMann recorded the album completely solo, playing all the instruments himself as well as engineering and producing the project in his home studio. All of it began with a series of songwriting sessions during the ultra-frigid 2013-’14 winter.

The albums first single, “Keep On Truckin’,” made The International Country Music Top 40 Airplay chart, and McMann’s currently number 72 on the International Country Music Chart Top 200. You can find more about the artist via his website.
