OVERNITE NAMES 2004 ROAD TEAM
Overnite Transportation Co. named its 2004 All-Star Road Team. Culled from more than 6,000 Overnite drivers, the 13 Road Team members have logged more than 32 million accident-free miles.
Leading this year’s honorees is team captain David Loyd, a 17-year employee from Sacramento, Calif. Loyd, who has logged more than 1.5 million accident-free miles with the company, is joined by Mark Asbury, Kansas City, Mo.; John Blow, Atlanta; James Campbell, Harrisburg, Pa.; Ricky Harris, Memphis, Tenn.; Joseph Hixson, Harrisburg, Pa.; Doug King, Louisville, Ky.; and Harold Lafon, Richmond, Va.
The remainder of the team includes Michael Raarup, Fontana, Calif.; John Richardson, Springfield, Mo.; John Rollyson, Indianapolis; Brian Walker, Greensboro, N.C.; and Wayne Tucker, Greenville, S.C.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
FORTUNE XPRESS recently honored its top drivers for 2003. George Davis was named Owner-Operator of the Year for 2003, and was previously Owner-Operator of the Second Quarter for 2003. The other owner-operators chosen as quarterly recipients were Ray Collins, Jeff Floyd and Greg Gedenberg, as owner-operators for the first, third, and fourth quarters, respectively.
MAVERICK TRANSPORTATION named Frank Korpos, of Weirton, W. Va., the 2003 Driver of the Year.
