CFI TO PROVIDE ALL DRIVERS WITH XM RADIO
Contract Freighters Inc. will provide XM Satellite Radio free to its more than 2,500 drivers. CFI is factory-equipping its new trucks with XM receivers. All CFI drivers will receive XM subscriptions, whether they drive a truck with an XM receiver or own a plug-and-play XM radio for older vehicles.

Through its 150 digital channels, XM provides commercial-free music, sports, talk and 24-hour traffic and weather for 21 cities.


BARR-NUNN ENHANCES PURCHASE PROGRAM
Under Barr-Nunn’s Zero-Down Program for owner-operators, the fleet will pay the down payment on a truck and give new drivers a $500 sign-on bonus. Bar Nunn guarantees drivers will not pay more than 99 cents per gallon for fuel for the first six months they are leased to the company. After that, the company will pay $1.04 per gallon.


AWARDS & REGOGNITION
John Henry is the 2004 WILLIS SHAW Owner-Operator of the Year. Henry has been with Willis Shaw for six years. He drives in the Arkansas region.

Darrell Branstetter is the 2004 Willis Shaw Company Driver of the Year. Branstetter joined Willis Shaw in 1998. He is now an owner-operator for Willis Shaw.

Mark Womble is the Paschall Truck Lines January Owner-Operator of the Month. Womble has driven for 11 years, the past eight with PTL. Womble was an Owner-Operator of the Month in 2004 and 2003. He has more than 900,000 safe miles.

Sam Salimi is PTL’s January 2005 Driver of the Month. Salimi has driven professionally for 14 years, the past 12 with PTL.

The 2004 Millis Transfer Driver of the Year is Norman Livengood of De Soto, Mo. Robert Rushing of Fort Gaines, Ga., is 2004 Regional Driver of the Year.

James Petty of Calhoun, Ga., is 2004 Dedicated Driver of the Year.

Millis Transfer added these drivers to its Million Mile Club: Dick Barnes, Richard Bell, Herman Coberly, Dick Dougherty, Anton Dvorak, Isaac Jackson, Dave Krist, Ray Luedke, George Rudolph, Bob Rushing, John Shayder, Andy Smiley and Rich Tojek.

The carrier passed out more than $1.1 million in safety bonuses March 19 and honored more than 360 drivers with at least one year of safe driving.

Jose and Anna Soto make up the Contractor Team of the Month. The Sotos began driving for CFI in 1998 and 2002, respectively. They live in Farmersville, Texas.
