Tri-state launches stock ownership plan
Tri-State Motor Transit launched an employee stock ownership plan in October.

The benefit allows employees of the Joplin, Mo.-based company to buy company stock and then receive the cash value of their investment upon retirement.

The company says it will make contributions on behalf of employees when they buy the stock. The Internal Revenue Service prohibits the inclusion of owner- operators in such programs.


AWARDS & RECOGNITION
CONTRACT FREIGHTERS named drivers of the month for August: Richard Norman, company driver; Ronald Crewe, contractor; Mark and Peggy Dahlberg, company team; Robert and Cecilia Wallraven, contractor team.

COASTAL TRANSPORT recognized Alabama truckers Robin Bailey, Jerry Pyron and Willie Akings for driving 1 million accident-free miles.

CON-WAY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES officer Curt Shewchuk was named Security Professional of the Year by the American Trucking Associations. He is director of corporate protective services for Con-Way and Menlo Worldwide Logistics.


Warren names September Driver of the Month
Warren Transport’s September Driver of the Month is Ramiro Cisneros of Laredo, Texas. He is an independent contractor who has been with the company for three years and has compiled an accident-free driving record.


Paschall names August, September drivers
Paschall Truck Lines named Loyd Reynolds its August Company Driver of the Month. A 1.4 Million Mile Safe Driver, he has been with PTL for 10 years.

With more than 30 years in trucking, Tadeusz Rymsza is the PTL Owner-Operator of August. Rymsza also is a three-time Driver of the Month winner and was the 2004 Driver of the Year.

Dolline Banks is the PTL Company Driver for September. She has 23 years of driving experience, 11 of those with PTL. She was also Driver of the Month in 1996.

A PTL driver for five years, Martha Maldonado is the September Owner-Operator of the Month.
