BAY & BAY OPENS WISCONSIN TERMINAL
Bay & Bay Transfer Co. Inc. recently opened a new terminal in Wisconsin’s Fox Valley. The company says the facility will expand services and prevent nearby drivers from having to travel to Minnesota, where Bay & Bay is based.

Offices and hookups for drivers are already available.


CELADON AMONG INDIANA’S BEST PLACES TO WORK
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce named Celadon Trucking Services one of the state’s Best Places to Work, based on employer evaluations and surveys. Celadon was one of 15 winners in the large company category.


ENTERPRISE RENT-A-TRUCK EXPANDS BASE
Enterprise Rent-A-Truck, a division of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, is expanding its network of branch offices to serve businesses that need temporary equipment. Its fleet includes light- and medium-duty vehicles, such as box, stake-beds and cargo vans, as well as three-quarter-ton and 1-ton pickups equipped for towing.


KLLM INCREASES PAY FOR DRIVERS, STUDENTS
KLLM Transport Services increased pay by 2 cents per mile for over-the-road drivers. Single drivers can earn up to 42 cents per mile and teams up to 50 cents per mile.
The carrier also is raising student training pay to $400 per week.


WESTERN EXPRESS UPDATES FLEET
Western Express is replacing all its 2004 Volvos and Freightliners with 2007 models. The company recently opened new facilities in Kansas City, Mo., and Emporia, Va., and has expanded its flatbed division by more than 100 trucks.

CONTRACT FREIGHTERS INC. named these January Drivers of the Month: Russell George, Contractor Driver; Cuthbertson and Sheri McPhee, Contractor Team; Timothy Turner, Company Driver; and Carl and Rebecca Holt, Company Team.

BOYD BROS. TRANSPORTATION won the Alabama Trucking Association’s Safety Contest in the General Commodities Line Haul Division. IT also won the award in 2003.

DECKER TRUCK LINE named February Drivers of the Month: Joe Holmberg for reefer/van and John Hessling for flatbed. Decker is based in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

JONES MOTOR GROUP named owner-operator Michael Sales its 2005 Driver of the Year. Runner-up was owner-operator Jerry “Mike” Curle, a former Overdrive Trucker of the Year.

Subsidiary Hot Shot Express named Michael Chastain its Driver of the Year; runner-up was James Bol.
