SAIA CUTS TRANSIT TIMES, BUILDS IN HOUSTON
Saia Inc. has reduced transit times from key terminals to its Southern California facility and moved its Houston terminal to a newly built facility. The one-day improvement affects delivery times between terminals in Fontana and Orange, Calif., and points in Houston, North Carolina and Virginia. The new terminal has 158 doors and provides next-day service to points throughout the South.


OVER-DIMENSIONAL TRAILER HAS 19 AXLES
Anderson Trucking Service received delivery of its first 19-axle trailer. Designed by ATS and Trail King Industries, it has a 32-foot expandable flat deck for heavy loads that can be changed out for a 50-foot beam deck for transporting specialized equipment.

CONTRACT FREIGHTERS INC. announced its June awards: Ramon Gonzalez, contractor driver; John and Sherri Dillinger, contractor team; Thomas Andrews, company driver; and Ray and Nikki Pierce, company team.

DECKER TRUCK LINE honored its July Drivers of the Month: Charles Zimmerman, flatbed; and Joe Holmberg, reefer/van.

TRANSPORT AMERICA’S May Drivers of the Month were Adolph Brinkman, James Goodenough, Jerry Hearod, Martin Sankey, Prince Sebie and James Shepler. June honorees were Tim Bauer, Shawn Crickmore, Edward Eason, Bernard McLellon, Ricky McFadden and Greg Payne.

DART TRANSIT announced its May Contractors of the Month: Mark Daquilla and Nate Hammond.

WARREN TRANSPORT named Michael Fink its June Driver of the Month.
