Overdrive top christmas songs edit

The runner-up in our Christmas-songs countdown is another carol with roots in 1800s Europe — Unitarian minister John Dwight Sullivan created the classic English version of “O Holy Night” after a French poem (“Minuit, chrétiens,” or “Midnight, Christians”) composed in 1847.

Here’s a vid of singer Carrie Underwood performed part of the song as part of a Christmas special in Washington, D.C., in 2005.
