Ovd 0511 Fc No Ink Box1Overdrive March 16 received a Jesse H. Neal Award for its in-depth coverage of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program. Held at New York City’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the 58th annual award ceremony celebrates excellence in business media.

Authored by Overdrive Senior Editor Todd Dills, the two-part series appeared in Overdrive’s April and May 2011 issues. Part 1 covered how owner-operators can maintain their driving record, while Part 2 recommended equipment maintenance procedures owner-operators should follow to remain in compliance. The articles included original research conducted by Overdrive, as well as photos taken by Dills.

“Todd is well-known to Overdrive readers for his willingness to tackle the industry’s toughest issues,” says Max Heine, Overdrive’s editorial director. Long-time Overdrive Art Director Kenneth Stubbs designed the winning articles.

Each year, the Jesse H. Neal Awards draw more than 1,000 entries from business-to-business publications representing all industries. Overdrive is a five-time Neal finalist and has also received numerous editorial and design awards from the American Society for Business Publication Editors and Folio magazine.
