Todd Dills, Overdrive senior editor, was honored last week by American Business Media with a Jesse H. Neal Award for editorial excellence. The award was announced at a ceremony March 27, 2015, in New York City. The award recognized Dills in the category of Best Range of Work, highlighting his ability to work across various media while maintaining high levels of editorial craftsmanship, journalistic enterprise and innovation.

“Todd consistently produces quality content for print, digital, video and social media, on subjects that impact the day-to-day operations of Overdrive’s core audience of independent owner-operators,” says Max Heine, editorial director for Randall-Reilly’s owner-driver division. “He consistently tackles the tough issues Overdrive readers face, such as excessive regulation, tight margins and a difficult business environment.”

In addition to his extensive and in-depth feature work, Dills writes daily news stories, builds multimedia packages, manages Overdrive’s social media and is the author of the award-winning Channel 19 blog.

Last year, Dills and Overdrive received the Grand Neal Award, business-to-business media’s highest honor, for the series of articles, “CSA’s Data Trail,” built on data from Overdrive’s sister brand RigDig Business Intelligence.
