Cummins Guidanz™ Mobile App And INLINE™ Mini Adapter Streamline Service
Cummins new Guidanz mobile app allows customers to quickly read Cummins fault codes and other key information on 2007 and newer engines, reducing the need to drive to a certified service location or wait for a technician to arrive on site. Using a smartphone or tablet, customers can pull prioritized engine fault codes and quickly initiate a service event by emailing this information directly to their operations manager or to a certified service provider. The Guidanz mobile app streamlines the service process by combining the functionality of multiple service system tools into one solution, quickly putting important information at the customers’ fingertips. Even when not connected to the Internet, the Guidanz mobile app can provide a list of engine faults to the customer.
With the Guidanz mobile app, customers are empowered to make informed decisions on when their vehicles need service, instead of having to interrupt their mission to visit a service location for a repair that may not be critical. The app also links customers to an online service locator, helping them identify the closest certified service location if they need to schedule a service event.
Certified service providers are offered Immediate Assessment™ – an additional functionality of the Guidanz mobile app. Immediate Assessment delivers improved shop scheduling, and dramatically improves customer uptime. This feature estimates the expected service time, and suggests the most likely repair parts for each prioritized fault code. Within minutes, the service provider can assess the severity of the fault, how quickly it can be resolved, and start a work order before the vehicle even enters the service bay.
To operate, the Guidanz mobile app must be paired with an INLINE™ mini Bluetooth® adapter or INLINE 7. The new INLINE mini Bluetooth adapter features a nine-pin connector that plugs directly into the standard SAE J1939-13 interface and allows users to quickly retrieve engine information using a Bluetooth-equipped iOS® or Android® smartphone or tablet.
The Guidanz mobile app with Immediate Assessment feature, paired with the INLINE mini Bluetooth adapter, provides best-in-class service capability, reducing the time a customer spends in the service process from what had been a few hours or days to just a matter of minutes.

The Guidanz mobile app will be available in April, 2017. It works on iOS and Android platforms, and can be downloaded for free at the Apple® App Store® or Google Play.® The INLINE mini is available through authorized Cummins channels.
