The contest asks for “Trucking Portraits,” such as this picture of Western Express driver Derek Dorsey taken in an Atlanta-area drop yard. The prize, in addition to publication in Truckers News, will be an excellent guide to post-shoot digital work in “Camera RAW 101: Better Photos with Photoshop, Elements, and Lightroom,” by Jon Canfield, a consultant for Canon, HP and other companies who’s helped Microsoft develop digital imaging software:

To join the Flickr group and participate in this month’s contest, visit flickr.com/groups/truckersnews. Here are the contest rules:

TO ENTER:
1. Post your appropriately themed, high-resolution (around 1,500 by 900 pixels, at the very least, will be needed to be included in the magazine) photo to the pool by midnight of Oct. 31.
2. Send an email with your full name, location/mailing address and your trucking business’ profile in brief (who you drive for or whether you run on your own authority as an owner-operator, etc.) to Todd Dills at [email protected] — include “photo contest” in the subject line and a link to the original Flickr location of your entered picture as well.
