Pilot Flying J opens 650th store

Pilot Flying J opened its 650^th North American location in October. The truck stop is a Pilot Travel Center in Von Ormy, Texas, on I-35 at Exit 140 and features eight diesel lanes and 16 gasoline lanes, a Subway and a Cinnabon. A 651^st location was also recently opened — this one in Hudson, Wis., off I-94 at Exit 10 along U.S. Highway 65.

After the truck was retired about three years ago, owner Joel Anker had it rebuilt into a show truck. The hard work paid off, with a fifth-place finish in the Limited Mileage -- Bobtail with Miles class at MATS in March.
