Plenty of truck parking: Debunking rumors about GATS parking availability

The Great American Trucking Show kicks off next month in Dallas, and there will be plenty of free truck parking available for attendees, says show producer Randall-Reilly, who also published Overdrive

Tom Winters, operations manager for Randall-Reilly’s events division, said rumors have been swirling of late that construction near the Dallas Convention Center has clipped the number of parking spaces available for the show. Specifically, Lot E, a truck parking lot at the convention center, is rumored to not be available.

That, however, is not true, Winters said, and though construction will affect about 10 percent of the parking spaces, Randall-Reilly has secured Lot J for truck parking, too, and arrangements are being made for even more overflow parking, if necessary.

Free shuttles will also be running continuously throughout the show, Winter said, back and forth between truck parking and the convention center.

GATS will be held Aug. 21-23 and in addition to the hundreds of industry exhibitors on half a million square feet of floor space, the show will host the 2014 Pride & Polish National Championship, educational seminars, celebrity appearances, driver recruiting pavilion, giveaways, displays of the latest equipment and a Partners in Business seminar.
