Truck tires
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has announced two new truck tires that employ the company’s latest technology. The Goodyear G661 HSA is a regional all-position tire available this month, and the Goodyear G662 RSA with Fuel Max Technology is intended for regional and local haul applications. Regional fleets drive an average of less than 500 miles per day and have a mix of highway or inner-city miles, together with local or city driving. The G661 HSA features a high scrub-resistant tread, with a multi-compound construction that helps to extend tread life when used in local applications that require frequent turning, backing and braking. Four full-size, super-tensile steel belts help reinforce the tread for enhanced toughness. The G662 RSA is the first regional tire with Goodyear’s Fuel Max Technology. It offers a 22/32-inch tread depth, which helps deliver longer original tread life. A pressure distribution groove, located on the shoulder area, helps direct pressure away from the tire for uniform treadwear and long tread life.

Aftermarket DPF
Paccar Parts dealers now offer the Engine Control Systems Purifilter, an aftermarket passively regenerating diesel particulate filter approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for installation and use in a wide variety of Class 8 truck models. The Engine Control Systems Purifilter was the first DPF recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reduce particulate matter emissions by 85 percent and the first passive DPF to meet CARB’s strict 20-percent nitrogen oxides requirement, the company says. Paccar Parts distributes the device exclusively through Kenworth and Peterbilt dealers in the United States and Canada. Each Purifilter model is available in five different inlet/outlet configurations with either standard stamped flanges or optional machined flanges. The 100-percent stainless steel modular design allows for 360-degree rotation of the muffler inlet and outlet sections to provide the greatest range of fit.
