WESTERN STAR INTRODUCES UPGRADES
Western Star Trucks’ latest enhancements to its premium owner-operator 4900 series include benefits in ride and cab comfort. The new Eaton Fuller UltraShift 10-speed transmission provides two-pedal operation and can be operated in fully automatic mode, a manual mode that allows driver selected shifts, or a low mode that maximizes engine braking via earlier downshifts. The Hendrickson Haulmaax vocational suspension’s spring system automatically adjusts to loads to produce optimal combinations of empty-ride and loaded stability. Other improvements include front AirLiner suspension, lightweight aluminum radiator, ConMet fifth wheel and brakes, keyless entry system and a wider, 48-inch liftable lower bunk on the 82-inch Stratosphere sleeper.

OVAL LED LIGHT
Peterson Manufacturing has added an oval clearance/side-marker light to its Piranha LED lights. The new light features a sleek design and mounts on 4-inch centers, making it a great retrofit choice for Class 8 vehicles. The light features hard-wired terminals sealed in polyurethane. It operates at 8 to 16 volts and is available in amber or red.

TRUCK-LITE MINI-LED
Truck-Lite’s new LED Mini-Marker Light, which measures less than 3/4 inches diameter and depth, is said to be the world’s smallest LED lamp to meet clearance, side marker and identification applications. This new LED helps reduce damage to truck lighting systems while making a more efficient trailer door design possible. The lamp offers more creative flexibility and lower amp draw to owner-operators who decorate their equipment. A grommet mount or a more permanent, theft-resistant flange mount are available. SECURITY SYSTEM DISABLES CIRCUITS
TruckWatch’s SafeStop system is an anti-theft device that cuts the truck’s electrical system at several points. SafeStop can be unlocked only with an encrypted transponder. An unauthorized driver cannot move the truck even if it’s idling. Multi-circuit immobilization makes it nearly impossible to hot-wire the vehicle.

VISCOUS AIR-SENSING FAN DRIVE
Horton has expanded its Vmaster Viscous Air-Sensing Fan Drive line to include first-fit and aftermarket applications for PACCAR trucks with Cummins ISC or Caterpillar C7 and 3126E engines and International Class 5 through 7 trucks with T444E engines.
The fan drive is equipped with a large flat plate bimetal sensor that sheds debris and reduces the likelihood of engine overheating due to fan drive failure. The fan drive cools only when needed, resulting in improved engine performance, less noise and reduced fuel consumption.
