A reverse bid website bringing together shippers and truckers opened recently, said Kirk Harris, president of Easyloadpro.com.
The website is the first service of its kind, the company says, and is designed to simplify the bid process. Shippers can post the desired price of their shipments, freight content, its location and desired destination on the site. Then carriers can negotiate offers by bidding.
Maps and online payment options are available on the website, as well as the Load It Now option that allows carriers to skip the bidding process. Anyone may use the site after submission of requested legal information, the company says.
