Roadwork set for 2 Tennessee freeways

Drivers on two Tennessee interstates can expect construction delays this weekend.

Interstate 65 North and South in Sumner County at mile marker 98 will be reduced to one lane as repairs to bridges that cross over U.S. 31 West (Springfield Highway) continue. The work will take place from 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, until 6 a.m. Monday, June 21, TDOT said.

Previous closures for this project have resulted in lengthy delays, particularly on I-65 North.

Lanes on I-24 East and West between mile markers 57 and 59 in southeast Davidson County will be closed this weekend to begin repairs to several bridges. Two lanes in each direction will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, to no later than 6 a.m. Monday, June 21, TDOT said.

TDOT will use overhead and portable message boards to alert motorists of the lane closures.
