Fleets planning to enter the 2010 Volvo Trucks Safety Awards contest should do so by the May 30 deadline, the truck maker said. Awards of $25,000 will be given to each winner of two divisions, which are based on vehicle miles traveled less than and more than 20 million miles. Contest results will be announced in the fall.
U.S. and Canadian fleets operating at least five Class 8 trucks and one Volvo tractor are eligible for contest entry. Entrants are judged on accident frequency rates and accident prevention efforts.
