Shorepower adds locations

Shorepower Technologies has added electric plug-in power pedestals to 17 more truckstops. White’s Travel Center in Raphine, Va., located at I-81/64, Exit 205, is the latest truckstop with electrification. White’s sister location, Lee Hi Travel Plaza in Lexington, Va., will also be offering power soon.

Shorepower Technologies provided the electrical pedestals to White’s through the Department of Energy’s Shorepower Truck Electrification Project. White’s Travel Center site also provides 480-volt power for hybrid refrigerated trailers.

As an incentive to use STEP electrified sites, Shorepower said free power is available to truckers through the end of January 2013.

The following locations offer STEP electrical pedestals: Newell’s Truck Plaza in Newton, Kan.; Seven Feathers in Canyonville, Ore.; Wes-T-Go Travel Center in Tye, Texas; Pilot Travel Center in Weed, Calif.; Flying J Travel Plaza in Lodi, Calif.; Hopi Travel Plaza in Holbrook, Ariz.; Chex Truck World in Middleburg, N.C.; Deerfield Travel Center in Steele, Mo.; Flying J Truck Stop in Florence, S.C.; Bridges Travel Plaza in Cusseta, Ala.; West Winds Truck Stop in Green River, Utah; Russell’s Travel Center in Springer, N.M.; Johnson Corners Truck Stop in Johnstown, Colo.; Flying J Travel Plaza in Bakersfield, Calif.; Dysarts Service (Citco) in Bangor, Maine; and EZ Trip in Fresno, Calif.
