Show on the road

If we can’t bring the trucker to the trucking show, we figured we would bring the trucking show to the trucker. This year America’s Traveling Truck Show’s summer schedule offers plenty of opportunities to take in a trucking show while on the road.

Last year’s ATTS stopped at 27 travel centers, where vendors and trucking professionals got together. Truck dealers showed off the latest models and exhibitors displayed the most up-to-date new products and services. Thousands of truckers attended the shows, where they registered for prizes and drawings, enjoyed prowling through the product displays and experienced the camaraderie and fellowship found at trucking shows.

I had the opportunity to visit with many Truckers News readers during the ATTS, and most expressed appreciation for having the chance to attend a truck show. This summer kicks off the new show series and new opportunities to register for fabulous prizes. The 2008 Trucker’s Dream Package includes NASCAR tickets to a race of your choice, cold pit passes, airfare and hotel accommodations for two.

All you have to do is attend an ATTS, have a CDL and register at any of the eight shows across the country.

Last year’s grand prize winner, Ronald Steele, of Andrews, S.C., won a combination of prizes, including a 2007 Harley-Davidson. National Seating gave away seven new seats to lucky attendees, and Petro gave numerous free desserts.
