States waiving hours rules

Facing abnormal cold temperatures, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri and Mississippi are waiving the hours-of-service rules for truckers.

In Florida driving time was extended to 14 hours to attempt to remove crops from fields and orchards. Farmers are reporting heavy damage to citrus and vegetable crops.

The other states are waiving the hours rules to ensure fuel and road treatment chemicals can be delivered.
