Strick Trailers receives EPA SmartWay certification

Strick, based in Monroe, Ind., is now certified to produce dry van trailers to EPA SmartWay specifications for customers who wish to improve the aerodynamics and efficiency of their trailers.

To receive SmartWay certification, the company is offering Freight Wing Inc. Aeroflex trailer skirts on Strick trailers.  Strick will also install low-rolling resistance tires on any trailer.  Together, the tires and fairings will provide an eight percent fuel economy improvement, based on EPA SmartWay estimates used for certification, the company says.  The new trailer option will also allow customers to comply with the new California CARB trailer requirements.

Strick’s HDPE plastic-lined TF1 trailer weighs 13,700 pounds.
