Class 8 truck net orders for all major North American OEM’s totaled 26,005 units, the highest monthly order level since May 2006.
Net orders of heavy-duty Class 8 commercial vehicles for North American markets in October rose 24 percent over September.
October's gain is the third consecutive month showing month-over-month increases.
September net orders of heavy-duty commercial vehicles increased 37 percent from a year earlier.
Net orders for all major North American manufacturers increased 21.6 percent over August and was 38.8 percent higher than a year earlier.
Net orders of Class 8 vehicles increased 42 percent over the three months through August compared to the same period of 2009.
Net orders for all OEMs were up 8.3 percent over July’s number and 16.8 percent better than August 2009, FTR Associates said.
ACT reported 15,999 net orders of Class 8 vehicles, 21 percent higher than May.
