The national average retail diesel price fell 5.3 cents to $4.004 for the week ended Monday, May 14.
The national price increased 2 cents to $2.919 in the latest week and is 39.1 cents higher than a year ago.
Diesel will average $2.95 this year and $3.12 in 2011, the agency said.
