Walmart driver garners Trucker Buddy honors

Fred Sweetwood, a driver for the Walmart Distribution Center in Ottawa, Kan., has been named Trucker Buddy of the Month for June 2013 following his nomination by Linda Carson, a fifth grade teacher at Marais des Cygnes Valley Elementary in Quenemo, Kan. Carson said that Sweetwood regularly shares news of his travels, including Yellowstone National Park, western Kansas and the Oklahoma City Memorial. Kansas driver honored

Mark Goforth was recently named Ruan Transportation Management Systems’ 2012 Driver of the Year after being selected from a pool of more than 4,200 professional drivers. Goforth, who operates out of Ruan’s Topeka, Kan., terminal, has been with Ruan since 2005. He has driven more than 1.5 million miles during his 15 years as a professional truck driver. Goforth was chosen based on length of service, safety, driving records, and exceptional customer service.
