FMCSA has announced it is no longer enforcing the mandatory 30-minute break required by the current hours-of-service rule in light of a court ruling last week that vacated that portion of the rule.
The entirety of the current hours of service rule was upheld for long-haul drivers. The only portion of the rule vacated by the court was the required 30-minute break for short-haul drivers.
The American Trucking Associations will present oral arguments against the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's hours-of-service rule March 15.
