Livestock groups ask DOT for hours-of-service waivers
Rather than the standard 14-hour on-duty period & 11-hour drive-time limit, the groups have asked FMCSA to allow them for a 16-hour on-duty period after an off-duty period of 10 consecutive hours and a 15-hour drive-time window within those 16 hours.

Illinois DOT suspends HOS rules for petroleum haulers
Petroleum haulers are exempt from Illinois’ hours of service regulations until 11:59 p.m. Feb. 7, or until bad weather has subsided, the Illinois Department of Transportation said Monday. The lift was declared due to increased fuel demands as a result of severe weather in the Midwest. An extension is possible, if conditions exists, IDOT says.
