The national average retail price of diesel surged 8 cents to $3.801 in the latest week.
The economy’s still sputtering, but it looks like there will be lots of freight through the holidays. At least consumer goods and other cargo related to retail sales are doing well, based on recent reports.
For the fifth straight week, the national average retail price of diesel fell.
The national average retail price of diesel fell 3.7 cents to $3.749.
The national average retail price of diesel continues to drop, falling 4.7 cents to $3.786 for the week.
Average prices were down in all regions, led by the Midwest where the average price fell 4.2 cents to $3.799.
Average prices were down slightly, except for small increases in the Rocky Mountain, West Coast and California areas.
Prices surged in California – up 10 cents to $4.058 – and on the West Coast, up 7.3 cents to $3.091.
