For the eighth week in the last nine weeks, the national average retail price of diesel fell.
Since May 2 the national average price has fallen 23.6 cents and is at its lowest level since March 7.
The national average price fell 0.4-cent to $3.95.
All regions fell in price, with the California price falling 8.4 cents a gallon to $4.287, the most expensive.
The national average price fell 4.3 cents to $4.061 but is still 96.7 cents higher than a year earlier.
The national average price declined to $4.104 but is still 97.7 cents higher than a year earlier.
All regions gained in price, led by a 3.6-cent jump on the Gulf Coast to $4.06.
The national average price is at its highest level since Sept. 15, 2008.
