U.S. diesel price tumbles 3rd straight week

For the third straight week, the national average retail price of a gallon of diesel declined. The price dropped 5.2 cents to $2.781, according to the Department of Energy. All regions reported lower average prices, ranging from 2 cents in the Rocky Mountain area to 6 cents in the Central Atlantic. New England is the only region with an average price above $3 at $3.017.
