ACT raises contractor pay

Effective March 1, owner-operators with hazmat credentials are eligible to make $1 per loaded mile on every load hauled for American Central Transport Inc., the Liberty, Mo.-based dry van carrier says. Non-hazmat loads are included in the price increase. Contractors in the process of getting Hazmat endorsements will receive 94 cents per mile until they do so, says Chad Still, ACT recruiting manager. Visit American Central Transport for details.

Boyd Bros. raises pay 1 cent

A 1-cent pay raise for drivers  is in now in effect, Boyd Bros. Transportation announced. All drivers will now receive an additional 1 cent on every paid mile. In addition to the pay increase, the Clayton, Ala.-based flatbed carrier also announced an increase in tarp and detention pay to $20 and $18 per load, respectively.
