Peterbilt announced its new 579 model has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay designation. The model meets the program’s established set of fuel-saving, low-emission equipment specifications for new Class 8 long-haul tractors and trailers. The model features an aerodynamic styling, a new interior, vehicle system enhancements like optimal an chassis system to reduce noise and vibration and integrated powertrain configurations.
