Pilot purchases 7 Bosselman stops

Newly renamed Pilot Travel Centers, seven Bosselman stops in the Midwest were purchased by Pilot Flying J, the Knoxville, Tenn.-based travel center franchise announced. All open for business, the centers are in Altoona, Iowa; Colby and Salina, Kan.; Big Springs, Elm Creek and Wood River, Neb.; and  Rapid City, S.D. Android trucking app launches

The Android version of Pilot Flying J’s MyPilot app is now available for smartphones and tablets, the travel center company said. Features include one-touch calling, a search function to find locations with specified amenities and services such as diesel exhaust fluid availability, and fuel price checks and comparisons. The app provides location and trip features for all of the more than 550 travel centers and travel plazas owned by the franchise. For details, visit Pilot Flying J.

Pilot Flying J stop set for Dec. 5 opening in Gilman, Ill.

A travel plaza will open Monday, Dec. 5, on Interstate 57, exit 283, in Gilman, Ill., Pilot Flying J announced. The stop features six fuel islands, eight diesel islands, a Denny's restaurant, an ATM, Western Union service and other amenities. Drivers will have access to diesel exhaust fluid and biodiesel at the pump, a CAT scale, laundry services, seven showers and 74 truck parking spaces.The Gilman stop also features Transflo, DAT Load Board and Trip Pak services.

Idleair opens at Pilot Flying J stops in Georgia, Tennessee

Electric shore power provided by Idleair is newly available at travel centers in Dalton, Ga., off I-75 at exit 326, and in White Pine, Tenn., off I-81 at exit 4, Pilot Flying J travel centers announced. The recently purchased truck stop at 4401 S. 32nd Ave., in Grand Forks., N.D. will be remodeled by mid-January, Pilot Flying J says of its acquisition. The travel center will feature four fuel islands and eight diesel islands. Drivers will also have access to diesel exhaust fluid and biodiesel at the pump, a CAT scale, laundry services, 10 automated showers and 141 parking spaces for trucks.

One customer weekly will be given a $200 gas card for downloading the newly available iPhone app, My Pilot, Pilot Flying J said. Pilot Flying J will purchase seven Bosselman travel centers in Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Nebraska, the travel plaza franchises announced. The acquisition comes from a 2004 agreement between the two travel center chains in which Bosselman used Pilot’s trademark at several of the locations to be purchased.
