Carrier Transicold announced a new line of what it says are ultra-efficient transport refrigeration unit and generator set, dubbed EcoForward, for compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's diesel emissions standards, which are set to change in 2013. California reefer deadline is Dec. 31

California is warning truckers with 2002 model Transport Refrigeration Units and older that they must comply with emissions control technology before Jan. 1. Truckers who have not already complied should place emissions control technology orders soon. Stock may be depleted for last-minute orders and then delivery could take up to three months.  CARB will begin enforcement after Dec. 31 and non-compliant TRUs could be penalized up to $500 per violation.
